The company has signed a 25-year lease on their new premises, moving to Bournemouth Airport after previous setups in Farnborough and Oxford.

 

Scott McVicar, managing director of the Europe Ground Division, said: "Since the move we have won long-term contracts of more than £90m, brought two commercial airlines to Bournemouth for maintenance and are building a strong corporate jet and turbo prop maintenance business.

 

"This is a good start, but we will increasingly ramp up our capabilities to meet the demands coming from civil aviation, business aviation, defence sectors, air ambulance and law enforcement.

 

"Our Bournemouth facility is fully integrated into a network that incorporates 14 US, six UK, two European, one Middle East, two Asian sites and four associated sites in Australia, providing coverage through Asia Pacific. 

 

"The specialisms, experience and capability we have here make it a keystone location, to which the network is already driving heavy maintenance business, particularly from the Middle East."

Many office-based businesses don’t see the point in using a time and attendance system.

The European Union Court of Justice (ECJ) has made a ruling that all employers in EU countries have to use “an objective, reliable and accessible system enabling the duration of time worked each day by each worker to be measured.”

This decision was reached because it was agreed that without such a system, employees could not easily prove whether they were receiving correct treatment or not under the EU health and safety regulations, such as at least 11 hours’ rest in 24 hours and at least 24 hours in a week.

 

Whether the UK will adopt this new ruling after Brexit remains to be seen, but any company with premises in the EU needs to prepare for this. Size of company is also irrelevant; micro-business will need to adhere to this too.
