Jobs could be at risk after discussions about mental care units merging in Fareham. There are two centres concerned, one of which is the Elmleigh hospital in Havant. Closing The Meadows, which has 24 beds and would putting 57 jobs at risk, seems to be the preferred route. Leader of Fareham Borough Council Sean Woodward said: “There appears to be no real argument against retaining The Meadows, which is based on a health campus along with a new community hospital.”
