Workers can be paid on annual contract basis thanks to payroll software

Employees at a Plymouth dockyard are to be balloted over a pay offer by management. One-off payments to workers are being offered at Devonport of £1,000 this year and £900 next year in an attempt to offset the effect of a two-year pay freeze. The result of the ballot is expected tomorrow (Thursday, November 10, 2011). Already 26 jobs have been threatened at the IT department at Devonport, it was revealed during the spring.
