Contactless smart cards are read quickly even if covered in oil and grease

Black Horse Contractors calls in administrators Contactless smart cards operate Time and Attendance Southern’s systems quick clocking times fast throughput of employeesThe administrators have been called at a Wiltshire-based civil engineering contractor. Black Horse Contractors has a number of offices and its headquarters is in Cricklade. About 180 staff in total have already been made redundant, including 100 in Cricklade. The rest of the 40 personnel are spread over three sites. Staff will be made redundant at the year end, said administrators Begbies Traynor. Simon Haskew from Begbies Traynor said the reason was “tightening economic conditions”.

Contactless smart cards are used to operate Time and Attendance Southern’s systems. When placed within range of your time and attendance clock, the smart card will be read in under ¼ second, even if that card is covered in oil and grease. This ensures quick clocking times and allows for fast throughput of employees, especially useful at peak clocking periods. Your smart card clocking system can also be operated by proximity key fobs, which work in exactly the same way as smart cards and can be used on the same clocks and scanners.
