Firefighters remained at a fire which began at the industrial site beside Lasham Airfield on Friday (August 26). A number of explosions could be heard while roads in the village of Lasham were closed and 12 homes evacuated.

Hundreds of council workers marched through Southampton in protest at having to take a pay cut. They walked from Andrew’s Park to the city’s Guildhall to protest outside a meeting of the full council. Workers have nearly all been forced to take new contracts that Southampton City Council says will save 400 jobs in the long term.

A man and his dog were rescued after a fire swept through a Lymington pub during the early hours of this morning (July 1). Crews from Brockenhurst, Lymington, New Milton, Lyndhurst and Beaulieu were called to the scene shortly after 4am.
