Attendance system integrates with lighting control to attain 50 per cent more efficiency

As part of a council bid to save £1,250 a year and to attain 20% more efficiency, energy-efficient white street lights have been installed on Southampton’s Itchen Bridge. The work is part of a £28.5m contract to change lighting across the city. The council said it would be able to remotely monitor the new lighting system allowing it to constantly manage energy consumption. It hopes to make an energy saving of 17% for street lights after the first five years.
