A Portsmouth firm has been fined for health and safety breaches after a man was hit by masonry. The passer-by was knocked over by the 17lb stone in the street. The accident took place in Camberley High Street last May, and at Guildford Magistrates’ Court the offending firm Majestic Construction Ltd was fined £8,000 and told to pay £5,473 costs. The company, based at North Harbour, Portsmouth, was undertaking work above shops to clean stonework when the incident happened.
