An attempted robbery at Poole Convenience Store, in Dorset, failed because of the bravery of the shop assistants. One of them, 24-year-old Kili Moorthy, fought off a man in a balaclava, who was brandishing a needle. He was only working at the convenience store to cover for his sick cousin. The temporary worker was forced behind the counter by the robber, but after reaching for some domestic cleaner fluid, managed to force him out of the store. The robber fled empty handed.
