Graphical office PC calendar charts reveal a worker’s absence records
A new wave of public sector strike action is looming large on the horizon after the subject dominated the start of the annual TUC conference, which ends today in Brighton. For example the National Union of Teachers announced at the Brighton Centre that its members had voted “overwhelmingly” for joint industrial action with NASUWT, in a bid to improve working conditions. The unions, which encompass nine out of 10 teachers, will be taking action short of a strike on Wednesday, September 26.
Absence planning and management is handled by a Time and Attendance Southern clocking network. Graphical calendar charts provide a colourful way of viewing a worker’s absence records. Each employee can be allocated different entitlements for absence such as annual leave or allowed sickness. As absence is booked and taken, the available remainder for each entitlement is updated. Entitlement formulae are used to calculate more complex entitlements that work on a rising scale based upon length of service.
