Movement monitoring in a building facilitates quick emergency exit
Firefighters had to take the roof off a farmhouse to tackle a fire. They were called to the blaze in Hill Top, Brockenhurst just before 16:30 GMT yesterday (Wednesday). The fire is thought to have started in a log burner in the farm in Hampshire and the occupants escaped unhurt. Station manager Rob Cole said: “The buildings were arranged in such a formation that we had to contain the fire quickly to prevent it spreading to the stables and barn.”
Door control plus movement monitoring can be configured in a Time and Attendance Southern clocking and smart card entry network to facilitate quick exit in a fire or other emergency. The versatility of the system means it uses passive infrared sensors (PIR’s) and the software to create a register of date and time stamped movement transactions recorded by the PC. This feature shows when and where movement in an area has taken place, and can trigger the alarm if required.
