No onboard battery in time and attendance key fob gives it a theoretically infinite life

Last week, according to local people, those living on Dimond Road in the Bitterne Park area found their fobs would not open their cars. One of the residents, Brian Deadman, described it as “baffling” and said his key fob worked perfectly well away from Dimond Road. Locals have blamed the interference on nearby Southampton International Airport or it being caused by a mobile phone mast.

Time and Attendance Southern offers reliable contactless key fob technology in order to operate our WinTA time and attendance systems. Their Radio Frequency proximity read method gives a constant read range. It also means that there is no onboard battery, so theoretically, each key fob has an infinite life and can be read an infinite number of times. An inbuilt aerial made from copper and iron is embedded into your T1313 key fob, allowing it to be scanned by your time and attendance system.
