Non transferable visitor pass including digital photograph prevents security lapses

Isle of Wight’s prison security lapses visitor monitoring system non-transferable visitor passThe independent board at the Isle of Wight’s prison (which is split into three components) has newly reported that, of numerous security lapses, the main problem was recorded at category C prison Camp Hill. The board also reported it was "totally unacceptable" that a prison housing almost 1,700 inmates had only one dog handler with two dogs. Previously the dog team had the equivalent of five full-time and one part-time handler working with 11 animals.

Time and Attendance Southern offers a combined clocking and security network which incorporates a visitor monitoring system that has been extended to meet the unique needs of the HM Prison Service. The visitor pass system allows any HM Prison Service officer to quickly check the identity and monitor the movements of visitors. A non-transferable visitor pass is printed detailing information such as visitor name, plus a digital photograph. At control points the visitor’s ID badge is simply swiped, and a high quality digital photograph of the visitor appears on-screen, allowing instant verification of identity.
