Staff use their smart card to produce a fully costed analysis on jobs

Bracknell, Berkshire is the UK headquarters of Hewlett Packard (HP) which has warned of cuts in its British operation. The global computer concern ideally would like to shed 27,000 workers. The company is struggling for sales in a marketplace increasingly dominated by smartphones and tablet computers. An HP spokeswoman said: “We do expect the workforce reduction to impact just about every business and region.” HP hopes to reduce the number of redundancies by offering an early retirement programme.
