Time and Attendance technology improves efficiency when cutbacks are made

Plymouth cuts servicesPeople in Plymouth are facing a big reduction in local services after the Government wielded the axe on public spending. Already committed to make £6billion worth of savings nationally this year, the new coalition Government announced that nearly £1.2billion would come from local government through axing individual cash grants. Therefore Plymouth City Council immediately needs to find ways to tighten its belt to the tune of 0.6 per cent, or £1.8million.

A council spokesman said: "We have been careful to avoid any new commitments. Certain grants Plymouth was hoping to access in 2010/11 have either been reduced significantly or cut completely at a national level. What this will mean for Plymouth will only become apparent later in the financial year."

Large organisations with weighty staffing levels such as councils can benefit from time clocking solutions from Time and Attendance Southern, who have been manufacturing, installing and supplying Time and Attendance systems in the cities of Plymouth, Portsmouth and Southampton since the 1990s through our parent company Time and Attendance UK. Councils can increase efficiency by utilising time and attendance systems correctly; and by analysing the data, finance chiefs can discover what effect staff levels have on production and what is the optimal staff level is in a department.
